Mark Wagner’s currency collage, meticulously crafted from thousands of scraps of deconstructed dollar bills, takes aim at the intersection of art and commerce, beauty and banality. Wagner’s collage work is exhibited and collected by museums, galleries, and private collections across the United States and abroad. His exhibition “My Portfolio” at The Pavel Zoubok Gallery (New York City, September 2007) coincided eerily with our plunge into economic crisis. This booklet marks the occasion, reproducing 25 of Wagner’s collages.
